In 1972 the Rolling Stones recorded Plundered My Soul in a few sessions that culminated in the successful Exile On Main Street. The song has stayed in oblivion until this weekend when it has come to light from a mixture of unreleased tracks and rarities of British bands including the Beatles, Blur and the Pet Shop Boys.

Each year for the last four in the UK celebrates Record Store Day, or Day of the record store, which seeks to promote the general public small businesses maintaining their commitment to this in a time when piracy and digital format threatens its existence more than ever.

To support the initiative, record labels and artists have decided to release new songs in a limited edition of thousands of copies. Is the case with the Beatles, the Pet Shop Boys, Goldfrapp or The Rolling Stones, who have pulled drawer Plundered memories to publish My Soul, one of the 'discards' double album Exile On Main Street.

Blur, one of the bands iconic Britpop movement, has also released a new theme, Fool's Day, in this case, the first to record the band's original lineup since 2002 the guitarist Graham Coxon's left by the 'differences' which appeared with the singer, Damon Albarn, frontman now animated Gorillaz.

Within Parlophone label of Blur, have launched a series of vintage limited editions that include groups such as Bat For Lashes, Hot Chip, Babyshambles or Lilly Allen. Similarly, have joined the initiative The Flaming Lips, Jimi Hendrix, the Stone Roses and MGMT.

The initiative of Record Store Day, however, is not British invention. The idea originated in the United States, where this year has provided some 200 launches limited editions, the limited number of copies for sale, become collector's items immediately.

It is estimated that today there are only 269 music stores across the UK, one third of existing ones five years ago. In Spain, according to a study conducted last year on the Day of Music, the number rises to 864 establishments, 11.3 percent less than two years earlier.
